  Pipeline Overview

We believe the unique characteristics of boron allow us to engineer novel product candidates that target a broad range of diseases and drive a rapid and efficient drug development process. Learn more about Tavaborole

The productivity of our internal discovery capability has enabled us to generate a pipeline of both topical and systemic boron-based compounds. We have discovered seven product candidates currently in development. Our lead product candidates include two topically administered dermatologic compounds—tavaborole (formerly AN2690), an antifungal for the treatment of onychomycosis, and AN2728 a topical anti-inflammatory for the treatment of atopic dermatitis and psoriasis. In addition, we are developing AN2718 and AN2898 as backup compounds to tavaborole and AN2728, respectively. We have also discovered three compounds that are in development with our partners: GSK2251052, or GSK '052 (formerly referred to as AN3365), a systemic antibiotic for the treatment of infections caused by Gram- negative bacteria, is being developed by GlaxoSmithKline; AN8194 an animal health product candidate is being developed by Eli Lilly and Company; and AN5568 (also referred to as SCYX-7158) is being developed by the Drugs for Neglected Diseases initiative (DNDi) for the treatment of sleeping sickness. We have entered into and are seeking partnerships to expand the therapeutic application and commercial value of our boron chemistry platform.

AN3365

Licensed from Anacor in July 2010. GSK is responsible for further development and any resulting commercialization. Anacor is eligible to receive development milestones up to $75.0 million, commercial milestones up to $175.0 million and double-digit tiered royalties with the potential to reach the high-teens on annual net sales.

Animal Health
AN8194

Licensed from Anacor in August 2011. Lilly is responsible for future development and commercialization of this compound, and Anacor is eligible to receive additional development and regulatory milestones as well as tiered royalties from the high single digits to low double digits on future sales.

Neglected Diseases
AN5568

AN5568 is the result of Anacor's research collaboration with Drugs for Neglected Diseases initiative (DNDi), entered into in 2007. DNDi selected AN5568 as the development candidate in sleeping sickness and is responsible for all costs of its development.
